These terms govern the text messaging program run by Ashley Bell for Congress ("the Campaign," "we," "us"), the authorized campaign committee of Ashley Bell, candidate for North Carolina's 10th Congressional District. By signing up for our texts, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy below.

1. What you're signing up for

If you opt in, we'll send you recurring text messages about the campaign. These may include news and updates, volunteer and event invitations, voting information and reminders, surveys, and requests to donate. Messages may be sent using an automated system.

2. Your consent

By giving us your mobile number and opting in on ab4nc.com, or in another way we've clearly described at sign-up, you agree to receive recurring automated text messages from the Campaign at that number. Consent is not a condition of any purchase, donation, or volunteer role, and you don't need to join to support the Campaign in other ways.

Only sign up with a number you own or are authorized to use. If you give us a number that belongs to someone else, you are responsible for that.

3. How often we text

Message frequency varies. During busy periods, such as right before an election or a fundraising deadline, you may get more messages.

4. Costs

Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan. The Campaign doesn't charge for texts, but your carrier might. Contact your carrier for details.

5. How to stop

You can opt out at any time. Reply STOP to any message and you'll get one final text confirming you're unsubscribed. You can also reply QUIT, CANCEL, END, or UNSUBSCRIBE, or email [CONTACT EMAIL]. After you opt out, we won't text you again unless you sign up again. If you also gave us your number for another purpose, such as an event RSVP, you may need to opt out of those messages separately.

7. Supported carriers

Our program works on most major U.S. carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery depends on your carrier and your coverage, and we can't guarantee that every message will arrive.

8. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 to join our text program. If you are a minor, please do not sign up without a parent or guardian's permission. Our text list is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

9. Political messages

Texts from the Campaign are political communications. Messages that ask for contributions or advocate for or against a candidate will identify that they are paid for by Ashley Bell for Congress. Contributions are subject to federal limits and rules. Contributions to the Campaign are not tax deductible. We will only accept contributions from people who are legally allowed to give.

10. Your responsibilities

Please don't use our text program to send us anything unlawful, abusive, or threatening. We may stop texting any number, or block a number from texting us, if we believe the program is being misused.

11. Changes to the program or these terms

We may change, pause, or end the text program at any time. We may update these terms from time to time. We'll post the new version on ab4nc.com with an updated effective date. If you keep receiving our texts after a change, that means you accept the updated terms.

12. Disclaimers and limits

The text program is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent the law allows, the Campaign is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages that arise from your use of the program. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under law that can't be waived.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina and applicable federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

Privacy Policy

Ashley Bell for Congress ("the Campaign," "we," "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect through ab4nc.com and our text messaging program, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information we collect

• Information you give us: your name, mobile phone number, email address, ZIP code or address, and anything you choose to tell us when you sign up for texts, volunteer, host an event, take a survey, or contribute.

• Text message information: the date and time of your opt-in, the way you opted in, your replies (including STOP and HELP), and delivery records from your carrier.

• Contribution information: if you donate, our payment processor collects your payment details. We receive only what we need to record the contribution and meet federal reporting rules, such as your name, address, occupation, employer, and amount. We never see or store your full card number.

• Website information: basic technical data such as your browser type, device, pages visited, and approximate location, collected through cookies and similar tools.

2. How we use it

We use your information to:

• send the text messages you signed up for, and respond when you reply

• organize volunteers, events, and voter outreach

• process contributions and comply with campaign finance laws

• understand which messages work and improve our communications

• keep our website and systems secure, and prevent fraud or abuse

• meet legal obligations

3. Text messaging and your mobile number

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties or affiliates, other than our text messaging platform and carriers, which handle messages only on our behalf.

We use your number only to send the Campaign's texts and to operate our program. We don't sell your mobile number or your text consent to anyone. Reply STOP to any text to opt out at any time.

4. Who we share information with

We share information only in these limited situations:

• Service providers that help us run the Campaign, such as our text messaging platform, email service, payment processor, hosting provider, and voter-contact and database tools. They may use your information only to perform services for us, and they are required to protect it.

• Legal and reporting requirements. Federal law requires us to report certain contributor information (name, address, occupation, employer, and amount) to the Federal Election Commission, and those reports are public. We may also share information when required by law, subpoena, or court order, or to protect the rights and safety of others.

• Campaign transitions. If the Campaign merges with, transfers assets to, or is wound down in favor of another political committee or entity, your information may be transferred, subject to this policy and applicable law.

None of these situations involves sharing your mobile number or text opt-in data with anyone for their own marketing or promotional use.

5. Cookies and analytics

Our website may use cookies, pixels, and analytics tools to see how visitors use the site and to measure our outreach. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking them may limit some site features. We do not respond to "Do Not Track" signals at this time.

6. How long we keep information

We keep your information for as long as we need it for the purposes above, including future campaigns where permitted, and to meet legal and record-keeping requirements. Federal law requires us to keep contribution records for several years. If you opt out of texts, we keep your number on a suppression list so we don't text you again.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security. If you think your information has been compromised, contact us right away.

8. Your choices

• Texts: reply STOP to any message.

• Emails: use the unsubscribe link in any email.

• Access, correction, or deletion: email info@ashleybellforcongress.com to ask what information we have about you, to correct it, or to ask us to delete it. We'll respond as the law requires. We may need to keep some records, such as contribution data, to meet legal obligations.

9. Children

Our website and text program are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Other sites

Our site may link to other websites, including social media. We don't control them and aren't responsible for their privacy practices.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We'll post the new version on ab4nc.com with a revised effective date. If the changes are significant, we'll make a reasonable effort to let you know.
